They don't have very sophisticated cloud repo options though which is the only downside.Īnyway, what does everyone else think about Veeam, and I'd be interested to hear if there are any other good alternatives, maybe even, gasp, one which is actually MSP friendly and can manage backup settings of individual computers with minimal hassle. And they have multi-site manager, where they actually have the decency to provide the central online dashboard for you to monitor all of your site manager installations for free, unlike Veeam where you have to spin it up yourself. And for clients with servers, their site manager and agents are sooooo much simpler than Veeam, and it's all very reliable. In the past I've always used Macrium, and I still think that for dealing with clients who at a push have 10 PCs in 1 place and maybe 0 servers, it's a much better fit. Oh and to add to that their support is totally crap, so you just feel completely on your own despite paying monthly! It's just not worth the time, it's not profitable, it's totally unwieldy. But after wrestling with all of their ridiculous registration, licensing, reporting, installation, million different products and services which all have to run at once, and everything else that goes along with it just to run a simple backup, I give up. Everyone always says how great Veeam is, and how no other backup solution is even worth considering.
